Our original Lamb's Pride yarn line offers two fantastic weights, worsted and bulky. Blended of 85 percent soft wool and 15 percent Mohair, this yarn produces a garment of exquisite loft and softness. Lamb's Pride is also very popular with weavers for rugs and blankets and a staple in Navajo rug weaving and repair of existing Navajo rugs. Lamb's Pride is one of the few domestically produced wool yarns made right here in the United States! When you buy Brown Sheep yarn you are supporting U.S. jobs as well as getting a magnificent wool yarn. I just made my first hat for Travis. I used the Lambs Pride Bulky in Cafe Au Lait and the Fiber Trends AC-62 Everyones Favorite Hat and Scarf. I couldn't believe how easy it was! I finished it in about 3 hours. This is a great first hat project, the yarn is awesome and Travis loves his new hat! Sara

5It really does look like 'Forest Shadows'Nov 21, 2010

Beautiful-looking and -working yarn. 'Forest Shadows' is an apt description. The lighter shades of green pop out in the seed stitch of my pattern like little stars. It's going to make a lovely afghan.

5Wonderful WoolJul 28, 2012
By Elizabeth Dale "mother of six"
I have bought several skeins of this Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Yarn now and I love working with it. It is so soft to the touch and easy to knit warm woolens with. It was hard switching to another yarn size and type since nothing felt as comfortable to knit with as this yarn did. It will be my yarn of choice when I buy wool yarn online. I love the color choices too.

Currently, most of my loom work is done with Lamb's Pride yarn.

It is softer and more flexible than Lion Brand Alpine Wool (which I still like, but which has a much smaller color range). In addition, it is sturdy, entirely natural, and it does not tear as easily as Mochi Yarn, another favorite (in addition, MY comes with a nylon component which is perhaps necessary, but a shame).

The quantity of the Lamb's pride skeins is very generous as well, and the texture unfolds magnificently; it is a delight to touch the yarn as the work progresses.

I have bought a large number of skeins recently, partially out of curiosity how different colors would look and feel.

Among them, I was disappointed in only a few. Mulberry at first seemed much rougher to touch than the other ones, but I decided to make a scarf as opposed to a hat and soon I was experiencing the familiar pleasures of working with the yarn. "Orange me glad", which I was anticipating feverishly, disappointed me somewhat in its color which is a lot less subtle than the image, but I will combine it with a rich red to increase the contrast. Yet many of the other skeins became more and more beautiful in my eyes as the projects were taking shape.

Highly recommended. I hope the entirety of the color range becomes represented on amazon as well.

5Little girls LOVE this color!Apr 09, 2010
By Kate "children's librarian"
I had bought all of the Lamb's Pride in "strawberry Smoothie" from my local yarn store and needed more in a hurry. Luckily I found it at Amazon! I use it to make felted hats for little girls and the pinky-red is their favorite. The yarn is a great texture for knitting and felting. So glad I found it. Thank you!

5Wonderful yarn!Mar 09, 2014

This yarn is a joy to knit! I love the color, which is aptly named, "Blue Blood Red", conjuring up colonial images. It handles well, with excellent pattern definition. The company was delightful to do business with. I am happy to recommend this yarn without reservation.
